Berry First Birthday | Cake Smash Session in Santa Fe
It was so much fun having Remedy into my Santa Fe photography studio for her first birthday!
There is something so special about celebrating a baby’s first year of life. The first birthday is filled with joy, personality, and so many new little expressions that seem to change every day. This sweet strawberry-themed first birthday session was the perfect way to celebrate such a big milestone. Cake smash sessions don't always have to include cake!
We started the session with simple first year portraits before bringing out the sweet strawberries.
Once the portraits were finished, it was time for the birthday fun to begin. Instead of a traditional cake smash, this session included fresh strawberries, which made for the sweetest little moments.
From curious bites to playful little hands exploring the berries, the session quickly turned into a joyful and slightly messy adventure. These moments are always some of the most genuine during a cake smash or first birthday session, because babies simply get to explore and enjoy themselves.
To finish the session, we ended with the cutest bubble bath cleanup. Bath photos are always a favorite part of first birthday sessions. Babies love splashing in the warm water, and it’s the perfect way to capture a few more giggles and smiles while cleaning up after the birthday fun.
